Default Match Manipulation?

Hey hey. So tonight me and some friends where holding HoH for a while (Which takes hours to get to when you cant figure out the damn skip lol) and this one guy pm'd saying he reported us for it. While I could see that getting a bunch of alts logged in to get to HoH isnt the most legit way to go about getting into it, there are a few reasons why I think its okay, which I would like your opinions on.

1. No one plays HA. At all. Its content that can only be played on a huge organized scale now. You could not get the amount of people required to do it unless its x2 weekend. I am very sure of that.

2. How are we supposed to progress the title when we cant get in there?

3. Its a lot of work for not much gain. Sure you might get a lucky drop, but thats very very rare.

4. Tonight, a team formed and managed to get into HoH to kick us out. Because we where in there for a time, we inspired a team to form and come kick our asses. Surely this is a great thing for HA?

5. We arent doing it to be rich idiots cause that wont happen. We are doing it for fun, and ive offered many people to come along.

Before we started doing this we already considered how it would be seen, but I cant see how its a truly bad thing, or even abusing game mechanics like syncing. We are just logging on a bunch of alts to very very slowly make our way to HoH.

So what do you guys think?

Some people will say what you're doing is wrong.

Smart people will agree that nobody really cares. I think you'll be fine.

U can get permabanned for that.
The 1st ban will be a 2week ban, after that your account can get closed permanently.

----------

The format just doesnt work anymore because theres a severe lack of players.
So I dont really think any change to the format will help at this point anymore.

Maybe special minis/el henchman (those fatties that eat bamboo or that demon guy that goes deep or that big fat tree.) in hoh chest but that would only be a temporary 'bandaid'.

Or maybe have it affect your guildrank/rating/whatever, but in the end it would just be wasted effort.

Have you experienced the ban Coast? I think it really sucks if you can get banned for it. I really dont see any other way to enjoy this content of Guild Wars, so I dont know how they expect us to play it.

fun? getting to halls by syncing with alts is fun? beating your alts is fun? or is it really the emote that you want?

and you're not supposed to progress the title, you're supposed to forget about the title, if you want an easy pvp title, go sync codex, or gvg, or try syncing RA, it'll be harder, cause there's a good chance you might have to fight proper decent players, and lots of them will be syncing too

so, the emote?

however, anet only cares sporadically, if at all, they're not interested in bans, they're not interested in GW1, and i expect when a half decent mmo arrives they'll be much too busy fire fighting to try and stop the exodus of players from GW2

It doesn't matter what we think, as this still would qualify as a breach of ArenaNet's RoC Article 24, and thus gives a great risk of indefinite account suspensions.

Titanium Knights [Ti] were perma banned for it after only the first time of doing it. Never had a two week ban

I think you should stop trying to justify your actions of syncing.

HoH is dead except for during double fame week and even then its only active for a max of 5 hours a day during euro evenings.

You are wanting to do this arena for the rank/emote/free faction/boxes/drops from the chest.

No matter what rank or emote you get from syncing the good PvPers will not take you.

So just admit what it is. The game is very much dead and you missed out on the active fun times of HA and you aren't good enough to acquire the rank legitimately during the few times it is active.

Lol, that shit is just as bad as syncing HA, so you're point is invalid as can be.
Really, i cant even.

And besides this, if It wasent for Anet too drop the Champ rating down too 1050 all RA people would bail out of GvG because the 1450 rating is something they would never achieve in 2013 and on.

If Anet didn't choose too do that, GvG would be just as dead as HA is now and so hf "syncing" dead trims because you're otherwise never would get it again due severe player inactivity.
The rating drop was GvG's only revival too keep Guild Wars, a Guild Wars based game.

But even today half the observe is a sloppy win trade.

Just my two cents.
Zephyr.

I posted this on the GW support forums a few days ago, where many many people have been complaining about this with no response from anet. Gaile Gray refuses to work with me. Anet wont ban the syncers nor will they do this easy fix, and it is easy despite what they say, HA has many many many 1v1 arenas, just switch one of those for HoH.

Just confirming the already obvious, anet doesnt give a ----.

I know Anet doesnt care about this game anymore, but there is an easy fix that can both help support the game and stop the syncers.

People often used to form sync-crashing teams to kick the syncers, but the syncers used the yellow team to have a huge advantage 8v16. This made people give up even trying.

If Anet made HoH 1v1 and no longer 1v1v1, When syncers start they can be easily kicked. This will boost HA activity AND deter syncers.

Its a simple fix, if anet can spend a minute on their non-boring game.

What is “a simple fix” to you actually would require a great deal of time in design, testing, implementation, and adjusting. And as clearly stated in the post "Guild Wars Development and Automation in 16 May 2013 linked here we are not making changes to Guild Wars.

Please also note that this is not a suggestions forum, and that suggestions threads will be closed because they are not aligned with the purpose of a Technical Support forum. Thanks for understanding.

Maybe this is ignorant, and if it is I'm sorry, but the physicist in me has to at least bring it up...

From someone that hasn't done HA in a long time, let me ask this. Since they are using the yellow for a 16v8, is there a way to time it so that you can kill the yellow team just before and they have no time to get that team back in there?

I'd have to draw out a map and timetable and see if that would work (id work with you if you wanna sit down for 15 minutes some time and see if it's possible, lol)... but surely there is a way to time it all and neutralize that yellow team before getting there. Cause they are using the timing to their advantage, so why not fight fire with fire.

Edit: I've been thinking. And due to the current way HA works, I'm not sure there is a way. But I'm thinking.

If there is a team holding halls, that means whoever wins UW will automatically skip. And that team is already waiting for the next match. So if you then go in and kill one team of a hench that is waiting for the next round, you will be waiting at UW also for the skip. So that won't work to get rid of the yellow team.

You'd have to have 2 teams. It may be possible with one extra person. Pm me =P. I think it's possible to get rid of the 16v8 in favor of the syncers and make it an 8v8. It would require a tiny bit of creativity.

Edit 2: I'm a little tired, but I think it's definitely possible to neutralize the yellow team. Damn I'm clever. Pm me

No, its pretty hard to beat the 16v8 unless its capture points.
And then u can still lose with like 1 mistake.

I think if you make 1 sync of your own, you could neutralize the yellow team so it never makes it to halls and then it would be an 8v8 =P

Fight fire with fire ^
